This group covers the athletic clubs, gyms, recreation and community centers, sports complexes, parks and golf clubs that keep tennis courts alongside their main business. Reading is in Pennsylvania, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. Traffic in Reading peaks on weekday mornings and afternoons, so allow extra time then. Addresses read from the street number up to the city, state abbreviation and five-digit ZIP code; the map link on this page shows the exact spot.

Went with my brother and niece and nephew. Big park with Basketball and Tennis courts. Plus a very nice splash water area. The playground is just ok and is pretty beat up. Alot of walking paths and alot of open green space for picnics or gatherings. However the reason it gets a 2* is the ball courts are in the open sun with only a pretty small shaded area. The playground needs cleaning up (lots of wear and tear, broken sharp plastic, swears/slurs written the slides/play area), and finally no bathrooms, not even temporary ones. Which is unacceptable to me. The City can do better.

Iโm really not sure what rating to give, as I have mixed feelings: the place itself is excellentโwith plenty of courts and green spaces, making it a great spot for young people to playโbut the type and number of people who show up there are problematic. The smell of marijuana is overpowering, and people show no regard for the children and young people present; furthermore, bicycles aren't allowed on the courts, yet people ignore the rules. I would suggest a greater police presence. That is why I am unsure what score to give.

This park is always a hit or miss for me. Always super crowded. The kids are rude. The older kids come to hang out and be in the way of the younger kids who actually want to utilize the playground. Iโm only giving them 3 stars because they added another small playground and splash pad. They still havenโt fixed any damages to the larger original playground though

The City Park is Reading's "central park" I haven't been there in over twenty years. I stopped by on Thursday March 10 to take some pictures for Google. I saw one dog walker and a family of ducks in the pond over by the bandshell. Obviously the park will be crowded in the coming warmer months. There's really nothing there for me to having me come back to City Park. When I used to volunteer for the Arts Council they would have a summer concert series but I never signed up to volunteer at them.
